Background checks
Background checks can be initiated during the producer onboarding process in IBM® Producer Lifecycle and Credential Management.
The background check process can be configured in workflow rules and the URLs to background check vendors must be configured in the application.conf file. For more information, see the IBM Producer Lifecycle and Credential Management Installation and Configuration Guide.
- If a background check is required from a producer, the producer must consent to the background check as part of the onboarding process.
- When the home office user reviews the producer's onboarding kit, the Background Check tab is displayed. Home office users can click on a link that directs them to their preferred background check vendor site where they can request the background check.
- Home office users enter the request ID and status of the background check.
- Results are entered into Producer Lifecycle and Credential Management manually or through a pre-configured process.
- The home office user determines whether each background check result is a pass or fail.
- If the producer has passed the required background checks, the home office user can approve the onboarding kit.
Onboarding kits of producers who fail a background check can be rejected or sent to a compliance review. Kits with a compliance review status are sent to the appropriate workflow queue to be reviewed. The reviewers can decided to override the background check failure or reject the kit. If the onboarding kit is sent to a pending rejection status, then the producer is notified through email that an inquiry can be created in Producer Lifecycle and Credential Management. If no inquiry is created in the specified number of days, then the onboarding kit is cancelled.
