PDT Mode

Printing using a PDT file is restricted as follows:
  • Only the fonts specific to the printer being used are supported.
  • Graphics are printed using the Windows® printer driver selected in Printer Setting, regardless of the PDT mode.
  • Postscript printers are not supported. There are no PDF files for Postscript printers.
Note: PCOMM supports printing PDT mode data using an IPP-based printer. The Internet Printing Protocol (IPP) is a secure application-level protocol used for network printing.
Prerequisites for IPP Printing:
  • An IPP printer must be configured and set as the default printer.
  • A PDF reader must be installed and set as the default PDF reader.
Known Limitations with IPP Printing:
  1. Currently, It supports a limited set of fonts for IPP printing and for all the unsupported font that is selected the application resets the font selection to "Courier" font by default.
  2. A temporary PDF file is created in the profile directory during the IPP printing, it is supposed to bedeleted after a successful print, but intermittently for few instances it may not be deleted automatically.
