The PORT parameter specifies the number of the port that the TN5250 client uses to connect to the iSeries, eServer™ i5, or System i5®.
The value is an integer in the range 1–65 535.
This parameter is required. The default is 23.
Normally, the TN5250 server uses port 23. Telnet typically uses port 23,
so if TELNETD is running and is using port 23, you need
to change the default. If two applications (TELNETD and TN5250) use the same port number, one of the applications
fails.
Note: If you change the port number from 23, the port number
defined on TN5250 clients must be changed to the number specified here.
