Adapter Setup Information
In Windows 8, Windows 8.1, or Windows 10 and later operating system, Personal Communications does not install drivers for communications adapters (MPA and SDLC). You have to install the drivers and create devices using the Windows Hardware wizard or the Device Manager. You must use that process for both Plug-and-Play and non-Plug-and-Play adapters. The drivers and .INF files are located on the Personal Communications installation image in the \admin\drivers subdirectory.
If you are installing Personal Communications Version 14.0 on Windows 8, Windows 8.1, or Windows 10 or later operating system over a previous release of Personal Communications, and you are using a communications adapter, you should update the existing driver using the Windows Device Manager.
The following sections provide additional information about configuring adapters, including PCMCIA and PCI cards.
