Printing SAA characters for 1390 or 1399 DBCS sessions
IBM Personal Communications printer keyword enables SAA (Systems Application Architecture) characters to print correctly, using image transmission mode for 1390 or 1399 DBCS (double-byte character set) host code page sessions.
In IBM Personal Communications printer session in GDI (Graphics Device Interface)
mode, the following characters might not print correctly:
- Pound sign
- Backslash
- Cent symbol
- Tilde accent
- Single Byte Euro symbol
- Logical NOT
- Upper bar
These characters can be printed using image transmission mode.
Add a keyword to the .WS profile, as follows:
[Printer]
Image_Transmission=Y
Note:
- During Multiple Print Screen printing, the File > Page Setup > BestFit option will be ignored when this feature is active. However, the File > Print Screen feature functions normally.
- In Multiple Print Screen mode, page breaks might appear in the middle of host screens, because Personal Communications does not have control in GDI print mode. You might have to try a few values for ReplaceFFbyLF to eliminate the page breaks.
- When printing a 24x80 screen to A4 or Letter paper, the suggested values are 4 to 8.
- The Print Screen Collection feature of IBM Personal Communications Version 14.0 is not supported in Thai, Lao, and Hindi languages.
