When PRNTMOD is set to CLASSIC and DYNPRNT is set to YES/REPORT

The print attributes used when Print model is set to CLASSIC and dynamic print is set to Yes (in archive attributes), or Report (in report definitions), Output Manager uses the recipient IDs on the distribution list that is selected for a reprint request and any sets of printer attributes to which these recipient IDs are linked.

The Attr Usage setting in the recipient IDs can affect when these sets of printer attributes are used. (The automatic printing of archived reports is not supported.) For basic and custom reports, if the report selection rule for the report is linked to a set of printer attributes, this set of printer attributes will provide default values for reprint requests only. Note: If the distribution list is linked to a set of printer attributes, Output Manager captures only the "dynamic printing parameters" from this set of printer attributes.

The "dynamic printing parameters" for archives are captured from the SYSOUT data sets and stored in the BJTDAT table. The "dynamic printing parameters" for basic and custom reports are captured and stored in the BJTDAT table. Output Manager captures values from the SYSOUT data sets and from the set of printer attributes that is linked to either (in order of priority): 1) the distribution list or 2) the report definition. These values are dynamically merged when a report is printed; the values from the set of printer attributes take precedence. The final set of "dynamic printing parameters" override any values for these same parameters that are specified in the static printing-related definitions (the sets of printer attributes or recipient IDs). The BJTDAT values take precedence over any values for the same parameters that are specified in the static printing-related definitions you create, that is, the applicable recipient IDs and sets of printer attributes. However, if the BJTDAT table does not contain a value for a dynamic printing parameter, the value for that parameter can be taken from the static printing-related definitions.

When Print model is set to CLASSIC and dynamic print is set to Yes (in archive attributes) or Report (in report definitions), the final set of dynamic printer attributes used for the CLASS and DEST parameters are merged from the recipient IDs on the distribution list and the values in the BJTDAT table for RDAT (report-level dynamic attributes) and ADAT (archive-level dynamic attributes) according to the following hierarchy:
  1. RDAT
  2. ADAT
  3. Recipient Details
Output Manager first looks for the values of the CLASS and DEST parameters in the BJTDAT table, looking first for RDAT values, and then filling in any empty values with ADAT values. Output Manager then looks for any values not found in the BJTDAT table in the recipient IDs on the distribution list linked to the report or archive.

The COPIES value is taken from the recipient IDs only.

Note: The source for the RDAT values stored in the BJTDAT table depend on how you have set the SET RDATDSTH start up command. For more information on which values are used for RDAT and ADAT, see Capture of dynamic printing parameters.
Note: You cannot override printer attributes from the Print Override panel when PRNTMOD is set to CLASSIC.
