Step 5: Define printer attributes

In this step, you define an optional printer attribute. Printer attributes are used for physically printing a report instance on a printer.

About this task

Note: Because the custom report that you are defining will be displayed online only, the printer attribute that you will define is atypical; most fields will be left blank or retain a default value of 0. To define a printer attribute, you must be familiar with the printers and printing environment at your site.

To define printer attributes:

Procedure

  1. From the Output Manager main menu, choose option A, Administrative Functions, and press Enter. The Administrative Functions panel is displayed.
  2. Choose option K, Printer Attributes, and press Enter.
A search panel is displayed. Press Enter to proceed to the Printer Attributes panel.
  3. Type ADD on the command line and press Enter.
The Printer Attributes Detail panel is displayed.
  4. In the Name field, type a name for the printer attribute. This name can be up to 32 characters long. (Record this name; you will need to enter it later when creating a report selection rule.)
  5. In the other fields, accept the default settings. To learn about these fields, you can press F1 for online Help.
  6. Press F3 (Exit). An exit confirmation pop-up window is displayed.
  7. Press Enter to save the set of printer attributes.
