Step 10: Activate the policy

You must activate the current policy to make the selector rule and report selection rule that you created available to Output Manager for report processing.

Note: If you subsequently edit these rules, you must activate them again. In this case, you must specify the SAVE command before issuing the ACTIVATE command. Otherwise, your changes will be lost.

To activate the policy:

  1. From the Output Manager main menu, access a panel from which you can activate the policy, as follows:
    • Type A.S at the command line to display the Selector Rules panel.
    • Type A.R at the command line to display the Report Rules panel.
    Note: You can specify the ACTIVATE command from either of these panels.
  2. At the command line, type ACTIVATE (or just ACT) and press Enter. The Rules Activation Confirmation pop-up window is displayed.
  3. Press Enter to submit the ACTIVATE command. After the command runs, the Rules Activation Results window is displayed.
  4. Press Enter to return to the panel from which you started.
