Define a report
Now that you've learned how to instruct Output Manager to capture and archive sysout from the spool, you can define reports for subsequent executions of this job.
Before Output Manager can
turn your SYSOUT into deliverable reports, you have to tell it how
to format the reports. This is done using report layouts, report definitions,
and report selector rules:
- Report layout: Describe the location of particular fields located in the report content
- Report definition: Assigns names to reports and specifies optional field match criteria and indexing
- Report selector rule: Indicates how to handle the selected areas of the SYSOUT by specifying the source (which job generates this report).
The following tasks provide the basic task flow for creating reports. For more information on each of these tasks, see the related section for Setting up reports.
