Searching for archived sysouts
Use this procedure to search for archived sysouts based on any of the following criteria: a job name, a SYSOUT class, an archive name, whether the archive contains exceptions, and archive creation dates and times.
- From the Output Manager main menu, choose option V, View Reports, and press Enter. The View Reports panel is displayed.
- Choose option A, Archived Sysouts, and press Enter.
The search panel is displayed.
- Specify search criteria in any of the following fields
- Job Name
- The name of the job that produced the archived SYSOUT that you are searching for. You can include the following wildcard characters: a trailing asterisk (*) or percent sign (%) to represent zero or more ending characters, or a question mark (?) or an underscore (_) to represent a single character anywhere in the name.
- Sysout Class
- The SYSOUT class or classes that are associated with the archived SYSOUT that you are searching for. If you specify multiple classes, ensure that no spaces or characters occur between your entries. For example, to specify class R and class A, type RA (not R A or R,A). You can type up to 36 characters.
- Archive Name
- The logical name of the archive that you are searching for. Output Manager generates archive names based a pattern that the report administrator defines when capturing and archiving SYSOUT. You can include the following wildcard characters: a trailing asterisk (*) or percent sign (%) to represent zero or more ending characters, or a question mark (?) or an underscore (_) to represent a single character anywhere in the name.
- User ID
- The RACF® user ID of the job that created the report.
- Exceptions
- Whether to list only the archived reports with exceptions or only the archived reports without exceptions. Specify Yes to display only archived reports with exceptions, or specify No to display only archived reports without exceptions. If you leave this field blank, both archived reports with exceptions and those without exceptions be displayed.
- After Date
- The date on or after which the archives that you want to display were created. You can enter a specific date in the format YYYY/MM/DD (where YYYY is the year, MM is the month, and DD is the day); Today or T for the current date; or T-nnnn for nnnn number of days prior to the current date (for example, T-14 for two weeks ago).
- Before Date
- The date on or before which the archives that you want to display were created. You can enter a specific date in the format YYYY/MM/DD; Today or T for the current date; or T-nnnn for nnnn number of days prior to the current date.
- After Time
- The 24-hour time on or after which the archives that you want to display were created. This time must be in the format HH:MM:SS, where HH is hours, MM is the minutes, and SS is seconds.
- Before Time
- The 24-hour time on or before which the archives that you want to display were created. This time must be in the format HH:MM:SS, where HH is hours, MM is the minutes, and SS is seconds.
- View as User
- This field is only displayed if you have the appropriate security privileges to view the archive list as another user ID. When in View as User mode, you can see the list of names of archives, but you cannot view the content unless allowed by your own user ID.
- Type your search criteria in one or more fields, and press
Enter. The Archived Sysouts panel is redisplayed and lists only the archives that match your search criteria.
