Primary commands
Primary commands are typed into the Command line of a panel. A complete list of valid primary commands is available on the help panel for each panel of the ISPF interface.
The following list contains common primary commands used in most of the ISPF panels of the Output Manager ISPF interface:
Note: Uppercase letters in a command name indicate the minimum portion of the command that you can specify.
- SAVe - Save changes made to the object.
- ADD - Create a new object.
- END - Exit the currently displayed panel.
- EXIt - Exit the currently displayed panel.
- CANcel - Exit the currently displayed panel.
- REFresh - Update the list of objects by re-reading data from the database. Any unsaved changes are discarded.
- SEArch - Displays a search panel where you can specify search criteria to find an object, or to filter the list of objects. Additionally, you can type SEArch (option) where valid option values include:
- SEArch All - To list all defined selector rules
- SEArch Save - To save the search criteria that you just set as your default criteria
- SEArch Reset - To reset the search criteria to the last saved values
- CEXPAND - You can use this command to display a full field when a value is larger than the display column. To use this command, type CEXPAND on the command line and then place your cursor on the field to be expanded, and press Enter. The CEXPAND display panel is displayed with the full value of the field.Note: You can also use the F4 shortcut key to invoke this command when your cursor is on the field to be expanded.
- CSET, CSIZE, CSORT, CHIDE, CORDER, and CRESET: In list panels, these commands enable you to configure which columns you can see, the sort order of columns, column size, and column order on the panel.
- HELP - Display the associated help panel.
