Setting display preferences

You can set Output Manager preferences to customize how links, line commands, and exceptions are displayed in the ISPF interface.

  1. From the Output Manager main menu, select option 1. Set User Preferences from the Options drop-down menu. The User Preferences panel is displayed:
  2. To set preferences, specify values in one or more of the following fields:
    Object links
In this row, specify display options for denoting Output Manager objects that are linked to the object being viewed. An object link is text that indicates a link to another Output Manager object but does not actually jump to it. For example, on the Selector Rule panel, a value in Archive Attr field is a link because it displays the name of the set of archive attributes that you linked to the selector rule from the Link menu.
    • In the Color field, type a display color for object links: RED, PINK, GREEN, YELLOW, BLUE, TURQUOISE, or WHITE.
    • In the Highlight field, type a highlight option for object links: NONE (no highlighting), USCORE (underscore), BLINK (blinking text), or REVERSE (reverse highlighting).
    • In the Intensity field, type the intensity with which to display object links: HIGH or LOW.
    Line commands
In this row, specify display options for denoting Output Manager line commands.
    • In the Color field, type a display color for line commands: RED, PINK, GREEN, YELLOW, BLUE, TURQUOISE, or WHITE.
    • In the Highlight field, type a highlight option for line commands: NONE (no highlighting), USCORE (underscore), BLINK (blinking text), or REVERSE (reverse highlighting).
    • In the Intensity field, type the intensity with which to display line commands: HIGH or LOW.
    Exceptions
In this row, specify display options for denoting an exception:
    • In the Color field, type a display color for exceptions: RED, PINK, GREEN, YELLOW, BLUE, TURQUOISE, or WHITE.
    • In the Highlight field, type a highlight option for exceptions: NONE (no highlighting), USCORE (underscore), BLINK (blinking text), or REVERSE (reverse highlighting).
    • In the Intensity field, type the intensity with which to display exceptions: HIGH or LOW.
  3. Type a slash (/) in any of the following fields to activate a display behaviour:
    • Informational Messages: When this field is selected, warnings and errors are always displayed.
    • Confirmation on Cancel: When this field is selected, users are prompted for confirmation when they exit a panel without saving changes.
    • Confirmation on Delete: When this field is selected, users are prompted for confirmation when they attempt to delete an object.
    • Confirmation on End and Save: When this field is selected, users are prompted for confirmation when they leave a panel and when they save changes.
    • Key character for internal navigation: Type a character to be used for navigating within the Output Manager ISPF interface. For example, if a dash (-) is specified in this field, a user can type -V.R in the command line of any panel to navigate to the View Reports panel (V.R).
  4. In the Migration recall job cards lines, specify the JOB statement that will be used when an ISPF user recalls an archive or report.
  5. In the Print and reprint job cards lines, specify the JOB statement that will be used when an ISPF user prints an archive or report.
  6. When you are finished setting preferences, press Enter.
