Specifying user messages

You can specify the following types of messages to be displayed to users whenever they start the Output Manager ISPF interface:

To set up user messages:

  1. From the Output Manager main menu, choose option A, Administrative Functions, and press Enter.
  2. From the Administrative Functions menu, choose option U, User Messages, and press Enter. The User Messages panel is displayed.
  3. In the Subsystem field, type the name of the Output Manager subsystem on which the message will apply. Use an asterisk (*) to apply to the default subsystem.
  4. In the Type field, specify the type of policy. Valid values include STC, ITOMWeb, and ISPF. To specify the non-specific (global) type, use an asterisk (*).
Note: If you specify an asterisk in both the Subsystem field and the Type field, any changes made will apply to the default subsystem.
Tip: Type E (Create, change or delete) on the Command line with Subsystem and Type blank to select Subsystem from a list. After a Subsystem is selected, a list of types is presented as well.
  5. On the lines provided, type a new message or edit the existing message text, as needed.
  6. Press Enter twice to update the message.
  7. Press F3 (Exit) to save your changes.
