Policy Administration

From the Policy Administration panel of the ISPF interface (A.PA), you can perform the following types of administrative functions: initialize policies for a subsystem, edit existing policies, view existing policies, delete existing policies, and manage user variables.

Changes to your Output Manager configuration should only be reserved for a maintenance window.
  1. From the Output Manager main menu, choose option A, Administrative Functions, and press Enter.
  2. From the Administrative Functions menu, choose option PA, Policy Administration, and press Enter.
  3. In the Subsystem field, specify the subsystem on which the policies are located. Use an asterisk (*) to specify the default subsystem. You can leave this field blank to select the subsystem from a list.
  4. In the Type field, specify the type of policy. Valid values include STC (started task), ISPF, ITOMWeb, BJTBATCH. You can specify an asterisk (*) to specify the non-specific (global) type.
  5. Type E (Edit) on the command line to edit the policy, and press Enter.
    The Policies panel is displayed.
  6. On the Policies panel, type ADD on the command line and press Enter to add configuration parameters to the specified policy/type. A list of available parameters is presented on a pop-up panel. For a description of the available configuration parameters, view the Help for the Policies panel, or refer to the IBM® Tivoli® Output Manager Installation and Customization Guide.
Note: Type I (Insert) in the CMD column to insert a new parameter.
  7. When you've completed specifying parameters, type SAVE on the command line and press Enter to return to the Policy Administration panel.
  8. On the Policy Administration panel, type I (Initialize policies) and press Enter to apply your changes.
