Distribution lists

A distribution list identifies a group of recipients who have access to view reports. Distribution lists are required for emailing, viewing, and distributing reports.

Reports must be associated with a distribution list, and distribution lists are required to identify recipients who have access to reports. Distribution lists can be nested within other distribution lists.

Output Manager ignores distribution lists when distributing reports as part of a report bundle.

To have Output Manager use a distribution list, you must link a report definition to the list. (You cannot send a report directly to a recipient ID.) Note that you can link a report definition to only one distribution list. For instructions, see Linking a report definition to a distribution list. If appropriate, you can associate the same distribution list with multiple report definitions.

Tip:

You can specify a RACF® group in an Output Manager distribution list to allow an entire RACF group to view reports. This allows sites with high turnover or large groups to grant report-view-access to an entire group rather than individually for each user ID. When a new employee is added to (or removed from) a RACF group that has access to a report, the report-viewing privileges for that employee are automatically updated.
