Creating pipelines

Create pipelines to define the flow of transactions and conditions that support your business processes.

About this task

Create pipelines by defining a pipeline ID and adding transactions and conditions to the pipeline canvas. You can organize pipeline activities into swimlanes and use visual tools to help design and validate the process flow.

Procedure

  1. Log in to Order Hub.
  2. From the side navigation menu, click Configuration > Application platform > Process modeling.
  3. In the process modeling area, click the process type that you want to modify.
    The system displays the Service definitions list in the side panel.
  4. Click the Pipelines icon (Pipelines icon that looks like a flowchart).
    The system displays the Pipelines list in the side panel.
  5. Create a pipeline by using one of the following methods:
    • To create a pipeline from scratch, click the Add icon (Add icon that looks like plus sign). The system displays the New pipeline tab and opens the canvas.
    • To create a pipeline from an existing pipeline, click the overflow menu icon (Overflow menu icon that looks like three vertical dots) for the pipeline and select Save as.
  6. In the Pipeline ID field, enter a unique identifier for the pipeline.
  7. Enter a Description.
  8. Optional: To add or modify swimlanes, click the Settings icon (Settings icon that looks like a cog or gear), update the swimlane settings, and click Save.
  9. Drag transactions and conditions onto the canvas and connect them according to your process requirements.
  10. Optional: To enter a comment, click the Comment icon (Comment icon that looks like a bubble with lines), enter the comment, and click the checkmark.
  11. To enable auto hint, which helps in the configuration process, set Enable auto hint to On.
    When auto hint is enabled, the system highlights the transactions that a selected drop status can connect to.
  12. Click Save and then select Activate.

Results

The new pipeline is displayed in the Pipelines list.
