An opportunity can contain multiple quotes. In such a scenario, you can
define one of the quotes within an opportunity as the primary quote. The primary quote is a quote
that is most likely to be accepted by the customer and get converted to an order. You can, however,
mark only one quote as the primary quote for an opportunity. The details of the primary quote is
used for analysis and reporting, such as revenue forecasting.
About this task
To mark a
quote as a primary quote from the Opportunity Details screen:Note: By default, the first quote
created for an opportunity is marked as the primary quote.
Procedure

Log in to Sterling™ Field Sales.

From the application sidebar menu, click Opportunities.

The Opportunities home page is displayed. Expand the Search
Criteria panel and enter the appropriate search criteria.

Click Search. The search results display opportunities matching the
search criteria.
- If only one opportunity matches the search criteria, the Opportunity Details
screen is displayed.
- If multiple opportunities match the search criteria, the list of opportunities is
displayed in the search results. Click the corresponding Opportunity Name hyperlink. The Opportunity
Details screen is displayed.

The Opportunity Details screen is displayed with the list of Quotes. From the list of quotes,
you can mark any one of the quotes as the primary quote. By default, the quote that was created
first for the opportunity is marked as the Primary Quote.
In the
Quotes panel, click

and select
Mark as primary option for the quote that you want to
copy.
- Click Save.
The Opportunity
Details screen is refreshed to display the selected quote as the primary
quote.
Note: Once a quote is marked as the primary quote, you cannot
change it to a non-primary quote. To change a primary quote to a non-primary
quote, you must mark another quote as the primary quote.
