Creating a copy of a quote from the opportunity details screen for an existing customer using an existing quote

You can copy a quote and create a new quote and a new opportunity for an existing customer. For example, you may want to use an existing quote, which you had created for a customer, for a different customer. In such a scenario, you can copy the quote along with the product information, and payment and shipment terms, and then define the customer information to create a new quote and opportunity for the new customer.

To create a copy of a quote from the Opportunity Details screen:

Procedure

  1. Log in to Sterling™ Field Sales.
  2. From the application sidebar menu, click Opportunities.
  3. The Opportunities home page is displayed. Expand the Search Criteria panel and enter the appropriate search criteria.
  4. Click Search. The search results display opportunities matching the search criteria.
    • If only one opportunity matches the search criteria, the Opportunity Details screen is displayed.
    • If multiple opportunities match the search criteria, the list of opportunities is displayed in the search results. Click the corresponding Opportunity Name hyperlink. The Opportunity Details screen is displayed.
  5. In the Quotes panel, click Quote Options Menu and select Copy as New Quote option for the quote that you want to copy.

    Notes:

    • The Copy as New Quote option is displayed only if there is at least one quote associated with the opportunity.
    • You can only copy one quote at a time.
  6. The Create Quote screen is displayed. In the Name* box, enter a name for the quote.
  7. Click the Calendar icon adjacent to the Expiration Date box to select the date by which the quote will expire.
    Note: If you do not select a date, the expiration date of the quote will be defaulted based on the configuration.
  8. In the Customer panel, perform the following steps:
    1. Select the Existing Customer* radio button.
    2. Click the Search icon adjacent to the Existing Customer* radio button to search for the customer.
    3. The Customer Search dialog box is displayed. By default, it displays all the available business customers. If you want to search for consumer customer, expand the Search Criteria panel and select the Consumer radio button.
    4. Enter the other search criteria and click Search.
    5. The list of customers matching the search criteria is displayed in the Search Results panel. Click the corresponding Customer ID hyperlink to select the customer. The Customer ID of the customer is populated in the box adjacent to the Existing Customer radio button.
  9. Click Save to create the new quote.
    Note: * indicates that the field is mandatory.
