Add Violation Message for a Document Type

You can add the violation message for a document type.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the Violation Message screen. To navigate to the Violation Message screen, perform the following steps:
    1. Log in to Sterling™ Business Center as a system administrator or a system set up administrator.
    2. From the System Setup Home page, expand the Approvals menu, and then click Manage Violation Message .
    The Violation Message screen is displayed. Existing violation messages, if any, are displayed.
  2. Click the Add icon in the Violation Message screen.
    The New Value dialog box is displayed.
  3. In the Value* box, ensure that you specify the value of the message code.
    The maximum number of characters you can enter in the Value* box is 40 characters. It is recommended that you specify a unique message code.
  4. In the Short Description* box , ensure that you specify a brief description of the message as you want it to appear throughout the system. The maximum number of characters you can enter in the Short Description* box is 40 characters. It is recommended that you specify a unique short description.
  5. In the Description box, enter a detailed description of the message code. The maximum number of characters you can enter in the Description box is 100 characters.
  6. In the Document Type*, select the document type of the violation message.
    Note: You can create a violation message for a quote either from Violation Message screen, or from the Quote Approval Rule Violation Reason screen. However, if you have created a violation message for a quote using the Violation Message screen, it would get added in the Quote Approval Rule Violation Reason screen.
  7. Click Save.
