Drop server

Access to a file drop server is provided to you, your Systems Integrator, Systems Integration team, and your SaaS Extensions Support Provider as part of your IBM Sterling® Order Management System service. You must use this drop server to transfer deployable packages for updating your IBM Sterling Order Management System environments and to transfer log files from your IBM provided environments for debugging.

Deployment packages

If you need to transfer a deployable package for deployment with the IBM® UrbanCode® Deploy Selfserv tool, you must first include the deployable package, or build artifact, on an intermediary file drop server. The deployable package can then be retrieved from the drop server for deployment into an IBM Sterling Order Management System environment.

Log server files

Log files are transferred from your IBM Sterling Order Management System environments every 15 minutes to the drop server. You, your Systems Integrator, or your SaaS Extensions Support Provider can then download the log files to help troubleshooting your SaaS extensions and site.

If you, your Systems Integrator, or your SaaS Extensions Support Provider have read access to the drop server, you can directly access the logs on the server.

The log files that are stored on the drop server are cleaned up periodically. The following table indicates how long after creation log files are stored before the logs are removed from the drop server.
Type of file or log Storage duration
System Security log file 90 days
Application logs 90 days
Back-up files 14 days
Deployment files Last version is kept until next deployment
