An opportunity is a container for holding a quote or related alternative quotes that are
presented to a customer. You can create an opportunity for an existing customer. An existing
customer is a customer whose records already exist in the system.
About this task
For example, let us suppose that the enterprise for which you are
creating the opportunity has a customer, XYZ Corporation, which has been placing an order regularly
for electronic products, and for which opportunities have been created in the past. You get a lead
that XYZ Corporation is expanding its operations for which it has to place an order for electronic
products. In such a scenario, you can create an opportunity for holding a quote or alternative
quotes that can be presented to XYZ Corporation.
