Viewing additional charges of an item in a quote
An item can be associated with more than one price. Along with the base price, there can be additional prices like installation fee, activation charges, monthly fee, cancellation charges and so on.
There could be such multiple prices associated with an item. Some of these prices are invoiced at the time of order creation, and some can be invoiced at regular intervals. A Sterling™ Business Center administrator can define these price types for the items based on the business needs and requirements and a field sales representative could view the price breakup for the items.
Solution
Sterling Field Sales enables a field sales representative to view the upfront charges and non-upfront charges that is associated with an item based on the additional price types.
For example, if the Sterling Business Center administrator creates two price types, namely, installation fee that is invoiced at the time of order creation and cancellation fee for information purpose, and if the administrator has enabled the multi-price type for an enterprise in the Sterling Business Center application, then, a Sterling Field Sales representative can view the following in the Sterling Field Sales application:- The installation charge as the upfront charge which is immediately billed on order.
- The cancellation fee as the non-upfront charge which is mainly for information purpose.
End-user impact
This section explains the end-user impact of this functionality:
- Based on the configuration, a field sales representative
can view the following details in the Quote Details screen:
- Additional charges column that displays both upfront and non-upfront charges that are associated to an item. The additional charges is displayed as a hyperlink, which links to the Upfront charges. The Upfront charges dialog box displays the charge name and the amount that is applied to the line. The Non Upfront Charges icon that links to the non-upfront charges. The Non Upfront Charges dialog box displays the charge name and the amount.
- Based on the configuration, a field sales representative
can view the following details in the Product Details screen for items.
- The Additional charges tab displays upfront charges, which are immediately billed on order and non upfront charges which are mainly for information purpose.
- Based on the configuration, a field sales representative can view the upfront charges in the Pricing Summary panel.
- Based on the configuration, a field sales representative can view the upfront charges that corresponds to an item in the generate proposal PDF.
Implementation
This section explains the configurations for this functionality:
- You must enable the multi-price type for an enterprise in Sterling Business Center. For more information about enabling the price type for an enterprise, refer to the An introduction to price type.
- You must create the recurring intervals types to specify the recurring interval that are used during the creation of price types.
- You must create the price type and associating items to the price type. For more information about creating a price pricing type, refer to the Sterling Buisness Center pricing administration.
- You must add price to a price type for items in a price list. For more information about creating a price pricing type, refer to the Sterling Buisness Center pricing administration.
