Add approval rule violation reason for a quote

You can add an Approval Rule Violation Reason for a Quote, using the Quote Approval Rule Violation Reason screen.

About this task

Note: The fields marked with * in the New Value dialog box are mandatory.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the Quote Approval Rule Violation Reason screen. To navigate to the Quote Approval Rule Violation Reason screen, perform the following steps:
    1. Log in to Sterling™ Business Center as a system administrator or a system set up administrator.
    2. From the System Setup Home page, expand the Quote menu, and then click Manage Quote Approval Rule Violation Reason.
    The Quote Approval Rule Violation Reason screen is displayed. Existing approval rule violation reasons, if any, are displayed.
  2. Click the Add icon in the Manage Quote Approval Rule Violation Reason screen.
    The Approval Rule Violation Details dialog box is displayed.
  3. In the Value box, ensure that you specify the approval rule violation reason.
    The maximum number of characters that you can enter in the box is 40 characters. It is recommended that you specify a unique reason.
  4. In the Short Description box , ensure that you specify a brief description of the reason as you want it to appear throughout the system. The maximum number of characters you can enter in the Short Description box is 40 characters. It is recommended that you specify a unique short description. The description specified here is displayed as hover-text in Sterling Field Sales when an approval rule is violated for a quote.
  5. In the Description box, enter a detailed description of the reason. The maximum number of characters you can enter in the Description box is 100 characters.
  6. Click Save.
    Note: You can create a violation message for a Quote either from the Quote Approval Rule Violation Reason screen, or from the Violation Message screen. However, if you have created a violation message for a quote using the Quote Approval Rule Violation Reason screen, it would get added in the Violation Message screen.
    The approval rule violation reason will be created for the quote.
