Managing Proposal Templates

The Manage Templates screen allows you to create and customize print templates for a document type such as quote.

A document type can consist of many print templates. Print templates can consist of many style sheets, which in turn, can be customized for different locales. A Print template is used when printing a proposal, which is generated from a quote, and presented to the customer. Print templates consist of a configuration XML and an associated style sheet (XSL).

You can configure a print template by providing a configuration XML, which is used to display the attributes that can be included when generating a proposal in Sterling™ Field Sales. The XSL (Extensible Stylesheet Language), along with a configuration XML, is used to format the proposal in Sterling Field Sales. By default, the first style sheet you create for a print template belongs to the base locale. You can create locale specific style sheets for a print template.

To configure a print template, perform the following steps:

  1. Create a new print template.
  2. Configure the print template by providing a configuration XML.
  3. Create a style sheet (XSL) for the print template.
  4. Create locale specific style sheets for a print template if required.

Managing the Proposal Templates involves, creating a New Print Template, configuring the Print Template, creating a Locale Specific Style Sheet, and deleting Style Sheets.
