Processing queues

Users with the Developer role, you can run processes for the queues.

Complete the following steps to process a queue.

1. Access Self Service with your IBMid.
2. From the Self Service menu, click Environments.
3. From the list of environments, select an environment.
4. In the Queue configuration tab, select a queue from the list, and click Queue process.
5. Select any one of the following processes that you want to run.

   Queue process	Description
   Put message	Inserts the message for the queue. You must enter the message in the Message field. Note: This process is not available in the preproduction and production environments. This process is not available in the production environment.
   View messages	Retrieves messages from the non-empty queues with fewer than 100 messages in the queue. After the process is complete, you can use the URL in the process report to download the .tar file, which contains the text file with the messages for the selected queue. Note: This process is not available in the preproduction and production environments. This process is not available in the production environment. Retrieves messages from the non-empty queues with fewer than 100 messages in the queue.
   Oldest message	Retrieves the oldest message from the non-empty queues. After the process is complete, you can use the URL in the process report to download the text file that contains the oldest message for the selected queue. Note: This process is not available in the preproduction and production environments. This process is not available in the production environment. Retrieves the oldest message for the selected queue.
   Clear queues	Clears all messages of the selected queues from Self Service in non-production and production environments.
   List queues	Downloads the list of all queues in your environment from Self Service to the Drop Server for further analysis and comparison. A process is initiated to download the list of queues to the Drop Server and the process can be tracked under the Processes tab.
   Display queue details	Select a queue for which you want to view the details and click Submit. You can then view the queue details under the Processes tab.

   Note: When you select multiple queues, only the first queue in the selected list is considered.

   If you do not select any queue, you can enter the queue name for which you want to run a process.

6. Click Submit.
