Add lead origin for an opportunity

You can add the Lead Origin for an Opportunity, using the Opportunity Lead Origin screen.

About this task

Note: The fields marked with * in the New Value dialog box are mandatory.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the Opportunity Lead Origin screen. To navigate to the Opportunity Lead Origin screen, perform the following steps:
    1. Log in to Sterling Business Center as an Enterprise Administrator.
    2. From the System Setup Home page, expand the Opportunity menu, and then click Manage Opportunity Lead Origin .
    The Opportunity Lead Origin screen is displayed. Existing Lead Origins, if any, are displayed.
  2. Click the Add icon in the Opportunity Lead Origin screen.
    The New Value dialog box is displayed.
  3. In the Value box, ensure that you specify the lead origin.
    The maximum number of characters you can enter in the Value box is 40 characters. It is recommended that you specify a unique reason code.
  4. In the Short Description box , ensure that you specify a brief description of the reason as you want it to appear throughout the system. The maximum number of characters you can enter in the Short Description box is 40 characters. It is recommended that you specify a unique short description. The description specified here is displayed in the Value drop-down list in Sterling Field Sales when assigning a lead origin reason for an opportunity.
  5. In the Description box, enter a detailed description of the reason. The maximum number of characters you can enter in the Description box is 100 characters.
  6. Click Save.
