Operational Reporting Framework: Limiting access to data

Creating filters and user classes limit access to data.

User access to data in reports is restricted in IBM® Cognos® Analytics by using filters that are associated with user classes. For example, to allow various ship node users to view a common ship node report, you can create a filter for each ship node user and associate it with the user class for the corresponding user.

To use analytics, it is not necessary to create filters or user classes. However, ensure that you create filters or user classes before you deploy the reports. For more information, see the IBM Cognos Analytics documentation.
