Managing Configuration Deployment Tool (CDT) on next-generation platform

You can export and import data with Configuration Deployment Tool (CDT) from your Sterling™ Order Management System master configuration to other environments. By exporting CDT from your master configuration to other environments, you can quickly migrate database configurations from the master configuration to the target environments.

You can upload, download, export, and import CDT files under the Configuration tab in Self Service and can view CDT logs based on your assigned role.

The processes that are run for export and import of CDT files are displayed under the Configuration tab.

Note: CDT is primarily designed for exporting and importing configuration tables. Exporting and importing of master tables are not recommended in Sterling Order Management System. Often master tables, such as YFS_ITEM and related tables, contain a lot of data. Hence, importing such master tables can make CDT fail as it is not meant for this task. It is recommended that you ignore the master tables in your CDT preferences file.
Note: Do not add PLT_PROPERTY and PLT_PROPERTY_METADATA to AppendOnly in the ydkprefs.xml file.
By default, the following tables are ignored from CDT:
  • YFS_ZIP_CODE
  • YFS_REGION
  • YFS_REGION_DETAIL
If you customize these tables and want to include these tables in the CDT, you can add the following property in the customer_overrides.properties file for each table or override the property under Property Management in the System Administration Console:
yfs.cdt.ignoretable.<table name in caps>=N
