Starting the Applications Manager

This topic describes how to launch the Applications Manager.

About this task

The following procedure explains how to launch Applications Manager from a web browser.
Note: Stand-alone Applications Manager is an additional option for running the Applications Manager. If you are not able to open the application manager from a browser, you can use this additional option. For more information, see Launching the stand-alone Applications Manager to connect to the developer toolkit environment.

Procedure

  1. Store the downloaded and extracted AppManager.zip and your client certificate in one directory.
  2. Run the Applications Manager by using your local certificate.
  3. Point your browser to http://hostname:portname/smcfs/console/start.jsp

    where,

    • hostname is the computer name or IP address of the computer where IBM Sterling® Order Management System is installed.
    • portnumber is the listening port of the computer where Sterling™ Order Management System is installed.

The browser displays the Sign In window.

  4. Enter your login ID and password and choose the Sign In button. The Console Home Page is displayed.
  5. From the menu bar, click Configuration > Launch Applications Manager. The Applications Manager opens in a new window.

Additionally, enterprise users who maintain an enterprise can access the Applications Manager by means of http://Sterling Order Management System installation server/smcfs/console/login.jsp

If both the Applications Manager and the monitor in the System Management Console are opened at the same time, and if a dialog window is opened in either of the applications, the other stops responding to user input until that dialog window is closed. This is due to a known defect in the Java™ platform.

Note: The Applications Manager can be launched either with the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser or from Self Service.
