Delete a category in IBM Sterling Business Center

You can delete a category only if you have deleted the subcategories, items and, assigned attributes from the category. However, you cannot delete a category if it is in the Published status.

To delete a category:

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the Catalog Management Screen. To navigate to the Catalog Management screen, perform the following steps:
    1. Log in to Sterling™ Business Center as an Item Administrator.
    2. The application home page is displayed. Click the Products tab.
    3. From the Products home page, click Manage Catalogs in the Catalog dashlet.
    4. The Catalog List screen is displayed. Click the Catalog ID hyperlink corresponding to the catalog for whose category you want to assign an item.

      The Catalog Management screen is displayed.

  2. From the Catalog Hierarchy tree, select the category that you want to delete.
  3. The Category Details panel is displayed. Click Delete.
  4. A message asking you for confirmation is displayed. Click Yes to delete the category.

    The selected category is deleted from the Catalog Hierarchy tree. If the category belonged to another category, the details of the parent category are displayed. However, if the category was a root-level category, the details of the parent catalog are displayed.
