Delete an attribute

You can delete an attribute that is not assigned to any item or category if you no longer have a need for that attribute.

About this task

Before deleting an attribute, ensure it is not assigned to any item or category. Otherwise, the details of the attributes will not be displayed correctly in the application and Web channel application.

To delete an attribute:

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the Attribute Management screen. To navigate to the Attribute Management screen, perform the following steps:
    1. Log in to Sterling™ Business Center as an Item Administrator.
    2. The application home page is displayed. Click the Products tab.
    3. From the Products home page, click Manage Attributes in the Catalog dashlet.

      The Attribute Management screen is displayed.

  2. From the tree in the Item Attributes panel, select the attribute that you want to delete.
  3. The Manage Attribute Details panel is displayed. Click Delete.
  4. A message asking you for confirmation is displayed. Click Yes to delete the attribute.

    The attribute is deleted, and the Attribute Group Details panel pertaining to the attribute group to which the deleted attribute belonged is displayed.
