A provided service is any additional action that can be provided to an order that does
not represent a physical item. For example, you may sell a washing machine that you want to provide
installation for. In this scenario, you can create the installation service as a provided service,
which can be offered when a customer orders the washing machine.
The following procedure explains how to create a provided service within the
IBM® Sterling™ Business Center. You can also create a service in Applications Manager. For
more information, see Creating a provided service option.
About this task
A provided service item is uniquely defined by its service ID and unit of
measure.
Note: A provided service does not always have to be associated with an item. You can
configure a provided service to be sold by itself as a stand alone service.
You can create a provided service from the Create Service screen.
