Transferring inventory

You can transfer inventory from one node to another. Transfer inventory allows you to proactively transfer inventory from a low demand to high demand location or bulk transfer a group of items to avoid markdown.

Procedure

  1. Click the inventory Inventory icon that looks like 3 boxes stacked on top of each other beside a single box icon on the navigation ribbon.
  2. In the Inventory search page, from the Enterprise list, select the enterprise within which you want to search for inventory items.
    Note: The Enterprise list is displayed only if there are more than one enterprise within your network. If your network has only one enterprise, it will be selected by default.
  3. Enter the inventory related information in the search fields, and click Search to view the Search results page.
  4. In the Search results page, select an item or SKU and click Transfer inventory on the table header. You can also click the overflow menu and the end of each row and select Transfer inventory.

    Important: For configurations with Global Inventory Visibility:
    • You may see some grayed out sections when using Order Hub software version. This capability is available only when using IBM® Sterling™ Intelligent Promising Inventory Visibility. If you want to remove the grayed out sections from the UI, contact your IBM Account Representative.
    • To enable and start using Order Hub with IBM Sterling Intelligent Promising Inventory Visibility, contact your IBM Account Representative.
    Element Description
    SKU summary SKU information such as SKU name, SKU ID, total units, enterprise, ship from store, pickup from store, description.
    Ship from origin node Name of the origin node where the inventory is available to be transferred.
    Ship to destination node Click Select a node and select the destination node from the Select destination node page. Click Save.
    Note: For integrations with IBM Sterling Intelligent Promising Inventory Visibility, to see all nodes across all enterprises, clear the Enterprise field.
    Requested shipment date Select the requested shipment date in this field.
    Reason Select the reason for transferring the inventory from the list.
    SKU ID SKU ID and name.
    Variation Variation details of the SKU.
    Origin - available to sell from on hand Inventory that is available in the origin node for transfer.
    Destination - available to sell from on hand Inventory that is currently available in the destination node for selling.
    Units to transfer to destination Enter the number of units that you want to transfer to the destination node in this field.
  6. Click Transfer to transfer the inventory from the origin node to the destination node.
    A message confirming that the transfer of inventory is in progress is displayed.
    Note: The transfer inventory actions invoked in this screen uses the following REST APIs:
    • getItemList
    • getCommonCodeList
    • getPage(getShipNodeList)
    • createOrder
