Outbound integration using APIs
IBM Sterling® Order Management System does not provide a client to communicate with
external applications. However, customers can develop a REST or SOAP client and introduce it into
Sterling™ Order Management System through the customization route to communicate with external
systems.
Note: You must carefully handle remote API errors in your client by using timeouts and fallbacks so
that the transactions on the Sterling Order Management System side are not impacted due to remote
service unavailability.
