Using the Sourcing tester

Use the Sourcing tester to understand how sourcing and scheduling rules affect the path that an order takes through your system. The tester applies different sourcing rules to the order and displays simulated delivery dates.

Procedure

  1. Click Fulfillment from the menu.
Note: You need to be assigned both the Tenant administrator and Fulfillment manager role to access the Fulfillment menu.
  2. Select an enterprise from the Enterprise list.
Note: The Enterprise list is displayed only if there are more than one enterprise within your network.
  3. Select Sourcing tester.
  4. Specify the test criteria.
Fields on the sourcing tester page
    Field Description
Fulfillment type Select the applicable fulfillment type to associate with the sourcing rule. For more information about creating fulfillment types, see Defining fulfillment types.
Scheduling rule Select the applicable scheduling rule to associate with the order. For more information about creating scheduling rules, see Creating a scheduling rule.
Carrier service Select a carrier service. For more information about creating carrier services, see Defining carrier services.
Customer ID (Optional) Specify the customer ID.
Requested delivery date (Optional) Specify a requested delivery date.
Order sourcing classification (Optional) Select a classification. For more information about creating sourcing classifications, see Defining classifications.

SKU Add SKUs to the order. You can search for a SKU or upload a CSV list.
    • Search: Search for an individual SKU to add. A list of options appears based on the text that you provide. After you select an option, click Add. You can add SKUs one at a time.
    • CSV: Upload a list of SKUs. The CSV must adhere to the following format (sku, productClass, unitofmeasure, quantity):
      sku, productClass, unitofmeasure, quantity
      ABC123, , EACH, 2
      XYZ987, Open Box, EACH, 1
If a catalog index is configured for your enterprise, ensure that the catalog index is up-to-date. If the index is not up-to-date, the search results might not return the expected items. For example, if you added a blue shirt to a category but did not rebuild the index, the search results will not include the blue shirt. For more information, see Catalog index building .
Quantity If you are searching for a SKU, you can specify the quantity to add to the order.
  5. Run the test.
    • Click Run test to test the criteria that you specified.
    • Click Run compare to compare different rules against the same SKU list.
Note: You can also click Save test to save all the criteria that you specified. In the future, you can load the criteria by clicking the Save icon (image).
For example, you might want to save a SKU list to run tests with different rules or delivery different addresses.
  6. The Test results page displays the simulation results.
    • The Summary section displays the simulation criteria that you specified.
    • If page the page displays more than one test result, each result is a simulation using different nodes to satisfy the rules. The first result is the recommended option.
    • Each test result can consist of multiple shipments. Each shipment can contain a subset of the SKUs that you specified in the test. Click the arrow (v) in the Shipment column to expand and view the SKUs and quantities in the shipment.
