Transferring SSL certificates to the drop server

For the DevOps team to import the third-party SSL certificates, it is important that the certificates are copied to a designated location on the drop server.

Before you begin

Ensure that you have the required permissions and login credentials to access the files and directories on the drop server. You can request access and connection information for the server through a service request ticket. As part of the implementation process for setting up the IBM® Sterling™ Order Management System application, IBM provides you with the information that you need to access the drop server. This information includes the following credentials:
  • The user or client ID that you need to access the drop server.
  • The IP address and port number for the drop server.

Procedure

To transfer SSL certificates to the drop server, complete the following steps:

  1. Set up your preferred file transfer tool to establish a connection to your drop server. Use your login credentials to access the server. You can use a Secure Copy Protocol to copy files to the drop server. For example, use a secure file transfer tool such as WinSCP or FileZilla.
  2. Connect to the drop server through your file transfer tool.
  3. Copy your SSL certificates to /home/<client_name>/externalCerts/<Environment_Name>/ on the drop server.
For example, if a client 'A' wants the certificate on the QA environment, the path would be: /home/A/externalCerts/qa.
  4. After the certificates are uploaded, use the Self Service to import the certificates.

For more information about how to import the certificates, see Importing third-party certificates.
