Activating logs replication to OpenSearch

The users with non-production Developer and Organization Administrator roles can use Self Service to push application logs to OpenSearch in nonproduction environments. OpenSearch enables you to view and search log statements that are generated by the deployed customizations directly within the environment, eliminating the need to export logs.

Procedure

  1. Access Open Self Service with your IBMid.
  2. From the Self Service menu, click Environments.
  3. From the list of environments, select an environment.
  4. Click the Log configuration tab.
Note: The log replication to OpenSearch is always enabled for production environments.
  5. Click Enable.
You can verify the readiness status by checking the following log replication statuses:
    • Enabled: Replication enabled successfully.
    • In Progress: The system is in the process of enabling replication. At this stage, the servers initiate a rolling restart.
    • Disabled: No OpenSearch replication.

When replication is activated, new application logs are replicated to OpenSearch for the next two hours from the time of initiation. You can leverage the OpenSearch query capability to locate specific log statements.
