Activating logs replication to Graylog

Users with Developer and Organization Administrator roles can use Self Service to push application logs to Graylog on non-production environments, when required. This feature helps to view and search the log statements that are generated by the customization that is deployed on the environment, without having to export logs.

Procedure

  1. Access Self Service with your IBMid.
  2. From the Self Service menu, click Environments.
  3. From the list of environments, select an environment.
  4. Click the Log configuration tab.
Note: Log replication to Graylog is always enabled for Production environments.
  5. Click the Enable button.
Upon enabling the Graylog replication, you can verify the readiness status by checking the following log replication statuses:
    • Enabled: Replication enabled successfully
    • In Progress: System is in the process of enabling replication
Note: At this stage, the servers initiate a rolling restart.
    • Disabled: No Graylog replication

Once the replication is activated, new application logs are replicated to Graylog for the next two hours from the time of initiation. You may then leverage the Graylog query capability to locate specific log statements.
