Upgrading customizations

In case you are on an IBM® SDK, Java™ Technology Edition, Version 8 environment and trying to upgrade to an IBM Semeru Runtime® Open Edition for Java 21 with Eclipse OpenJ9 environment, use the upgrade JDK command.

Procedure

Use the following upgrade JDK command to upgrade to the IBM Semeru Runtime Open Edition for Java 21 with Eclipse OpenJ9 environment:

ssctl customization upgrade-jdk --customization-file myfile.jar --environment-name dev-1 --config myconfig.json

Note: This is only applicable for the environments on IBM SDK, Java Technology Edition, Version 8 to upgrade them to IBM Semeru Runtime Open Edition for Java 21 with Eclipse OpenJ9. Once the upgrade is completed, it is expected not to use the upgrade JDK command.
