Define customer information of a business customer

As a System Administrator or an Enterprise Administrator, you can define or modify the existing customer demographics and customer preferences information of a business customer using the Customer Detail screen.

Note: The fields marked with * in the Customer Detail screen are mandatory.

To Define customer information of a business customer, use the following procedure:

Procedure

  1. Navigate to the Customer Search screen. To navigate to the Customer Search screen, perform the following steps:
    1. Log in to Sterling™ Business Center as an administrator.
    2. From the Customer Home page, click Find Customer in the Customer dashlet.

      The Customer Search screen is displayed.

  2. In the Basic Customer Search panel, select Business Customer.
  3. Enter applicable search criteria and click the Search icon. A list of customers displays.
  4. Click the Customer ID of the business customer whose details you want to modify, in the Customer List panel. The Customer Detail screen in displayed.
  5. In the Customer Information panel, perform the following:
    1. In the D-U-N-S Number box, enter the buyer's DUNS number.
    2. From the Relationship Type drop-down list, select the relationship type of the business customer with the enterprise. The values displayed in the drop-down list are configured by the administrator.
    3. From the Membership Level drop-down list, select the membership level of the business customer. The values displayed in the drop-down list are configured by the administrator.
    4. From the Vertical drop-down list, select the vertical level of the business customer. The values displayed in the drop-down list are configured by the administrator.
    5. From the Customer Classification drop-down list, select the customer class of the business customer. The values displayed in the drop-down list are configured by the administrator.
    6. In the Currencies area, select the check box adjacent to the preferred currency or currencies of the business customer.
    7. Select the Is Tax Exempt check box, if the business customer's transactions are exempted from being taxed.
    8. In the Tax Exemption Code box, enter the code for tax exemption for the business customer.
      Note: If you select the Tax Exempt check box, ensure that you specify the code in the Tax Exemption Code box.
    9. From the Default Currency drop-down list, select the default currency of the business customer.
      Note: The Default Currency drop-down list is populated only if the you select the check box adjacent to the preferred currency or currencies, in the Currencies area.
  6. Click Save to save the details specified in the Customer Information panel for a business consumer.
