Defining pricing rule and coupon adjustments

You can define how adjustments will be applied with respect to fixed prices, multiple discounts, and maximizing coupon values.

Fixed price promotions
In addition to specifying a discount percentage or an absolute discount for promotions, you can also specify a fixed price or cost. In this way, you can make final prices for a product or group of products constant for a period of time, regardless of any changes in unit price, additional price, or price list definitions. These are tracked as discounts on unit price and price types. When the adjustment type is Fixed Price and Specify price types is enabled, then only one price type is supported.
Pricing rules for discounted prices
At the enterprise level, you can configure pricing rules so that discounts from multiple promotions are applied to the discounted prices in turn, rather than each discount being applied to the original, undiscounted price.
Maximizing coupon value
You can specify whether a coupon or discount applies to the highest priced item or the lowest priced item in a customer’s purchase. This adjustment can pertain to a single occurrence, all occurrences, or each combination of the qualifying item.
Mapping a pricing rule or coupon adjustment to charges
Sterling™ Order Management System stores the adjustments that are generated as part of a pricing call using a charge category and charge name combination. The Pricing Service returns these attributes during the pricing call, based on the data configured for each pricing rule action. When multiple pricing rules are applicable, adjustments from the pricing rule actions are summed.
