Changing service capacity

Service capacity refers to the capacity of delivery and provided services that are supplied by service nodes. In Order Hub, if the resource pool's capacity is maintained at the resource pool level then you can modify the standard or override capacity. If the resource pool's capacity is maintained at the service resource level, then the service resource configurations are read-only.

Note: Capacity maintained at resource level is an option in your resource pool details. If selected, capacity is maintained at the service resource level. If cleared, capacity is maintained at the resource pool level. For more information, see Creating and modifying a resource pool.
To modify capacity that is maintained at the service resource level, use the Applications Manager. For more information, see Creating and modifying a service resource.

    Standard capacity
Standard capacity is the normal service capacity that is configured for the resource pool. For example, you can set an effective date range that starts from 31 October and ends on 31 December. Then, set standard capacity to 20 hours every day Monday to Sunday for this date range.
    1. In the Date range field, choose or create a date range when you want the capacity to be effective. You can also delete a date range by choosing the range and then clicking the trash can icon (image)
      • Start and end dates are inclusive.
      • Date ranges cannot overlap.
    2. In the Capacity for selected date range section, specify the service capacity weekly schedule, in hours. To set the same capacity value for every day, you can simply enter the number of hours in the Week column. If needed, specify supplemental capacity to plan for future weeks where service requests are expected to be high.
    3. To change the effective date range, update the dates that are beside the Capacity for selected date range title.
    4. Click Save.
    Override capacity
Override the standard capacity for specific days to cope with situations such as holidays or unexpected increase in service demand. For example, if a group of service personnel decide to take vacation at the same time, you can reduce the service capacity during the vacation time.
    1. Toggle between Day, Week, or Month to find the date where you want to override capacity. In the Month view, if you have multiple shifts, you can use the drop down menu beside the Week|Month toggle to view the capacity for different shifts.
    2. Select the checkboxes for the dates that you want to override.
    3. Click Override capacity.
    4. Specify the override capacity and supplemental capacity as needed.
    5. Update the override or supplemental capacity values as needed and then select the shifts where you want to apply the changes.
    6. Click Save.
If you do not see the Standard capacity and Override capacity options, then the resource pool is maintained at the service resource level. To modify capacity, use the Applications Manager. For more information, see Creating and modifying a service resource.
  6. Click Save to save your changes.
