Reworking a quote

A quote may have to be reworked by a Field Sales Representative for several reasons.

These reasons include:

  • Before the quote is presented to a customer, one or more line items in the quote fail item validation.
  • The customer accepts a quote, but asks for some of the quote’s attributes to be changed, such as an address correction.
  • When a recommended line is added to a quote, the quote must be repriced.
  • To address inconsistencies in a quote, the Field Sales Representative may make changes to the quote before it is converted into an order. These changes require the customer to reaccept the quote. When this occurs, the reworkQuote API is called to reprocess the quote, which removes approval holds, if any, and moves the quote back to the Created status in the Quote Fulfillment pipeline.
Note: If any changes are made to a quote after it has been presented to a customer, the rework quote transaction moves the quote back to the Created status in the Quote Fulfillment pipeline.
