Creating a work order

Create a work order to capture the work that is needed to complete the provided service or delivery service. You can create work orders for existing orders that include at least one service request or delivery request.

Procedure

  1. Log in to Order Hub.
  2. Click Orders and search for the order that you want to update.
  3. From the Order details page, select Actions > Create work order.
  4. Complete the form.
    Work order number
    Enter a work order number. If you do not enter a value, the system automatically generates a unique number.
    Multiple appointments
    If the work order requires several appointments to complete the work, enable this option.
    Ship node
    Select the ship node from which the service will be carried out.
    Products being delivered
    For sales orders, select the items that the service provider or installer needs to deliver to the appointment. For return orders, specify the products to pickup for the return.
    Delivery services
    Select a delivery service to add to the work order. Delivery requests that are added to the order appear in the list. To add a delivery request, see Adding delivery requests.
    Provided services
    Select a provided service to add to the work order. Service requests that are added to the order appear in the list. To add a service request, see Adding service requests.
  5. Click Create.
    The page refreshes and any order lines or services that are included in a work order are denoted by a work order icon (Home icon) next to the line numbers.
  6. Use the Application Console to search for the work order that you created and add an appointment. For more information, see Searching for a service work order .
