BOPIS Sales Order and BOPIS Store Shipment pipelines

A pipeline represents the process configuration that is unique to an organization. A process type pipeline is a series of transactions and statuses that guide a document type, such as a sales order, through a predefined process. You can also set up transactions that consist of events, actions, and conditions for the pipeline you are configuring.

When a shopper places an order, the order is created either as a draft order or confirmed order. Reservation is also created for the order and is confirmed. The confirmed order is scheduled to check for inventory availability, inventory reservation, and estimated shipment dates calculation. If the scheduling process is unable to find inventory, the order is moved to backordered status. After a specific time interval the backordered items are again picked up and scheduled. The order is later released to a node for further processing. If the node is not present in Sterling™ Order Management System, but present in an external system, the node information is published to the external system. A shipment is created or consolidated with an existing shipment. The order can be either closed or purged from Sterling Order Management System.

The BOPIS Sales Order and BOPIS Store Shipment pipelines that are provided with BOPIS deployment accelerator are simplified and easy to use. All the redundant conditions and transactions are removed from the existing Sales Order pipeline to ensure most of the commonly used functionality is intact.

The pipeline determination rule for an Enterprise is configured to use the BOPIS Sales Order and BOPIS Store Shipment pipelines based on a condition "when delivery method is PICK".
