Data volume containers

Data volume containers exist only to store data for the purpose of data persistence.

Each data volume container exists in parallel to the application container that is associated with it. The data volume containers are used to store the data (such as log files, customizations, configurations, and profile information) from the application containers, thereby preventing the loss of data when application containers are deleted, such as during a version upgrade.

Data volume containers are never in a running state, and consequently they do not consume any computing resources.
