Fulfilling a delivery service

To be able to promise a delivery service, all product lines associated with the delivery must be available for scheduling.

A service line is moved to Delivered status when a work order and an appointment are created and the appointment is confirmed. During the appointment creation process, Sterling Order Management System Software assigns the resource pool that is used for the delivery service.

If multiple resource pools are available, Sterling Order Management System Software tries to promise the delivery service by using the resource pool that is not marked as the secondary resource pool for the ship-to region. If no other resource pool is available, the secondary resource pool is used for promising.

As part of the appointment creation process, capacity consumption is recorded against the resource pool selected.
