    1. Log in to Sterling Business Center as a system administrator or a system setup administrator.
    2. From the System Setup home page, expand the Payments menu, and then click Manage Payment Rules.
    3. The Payment Rules Search screen is displayed. In the Payment Rules Search screen, enter the search criteria, and click Search to complete a basic search.
    4. The payment rules that match the search criteria are displayed. Click the Payment Rule hyperlink.

The Payment Rule Details screen is displayed.

Note: If there is only one payment rule that matches the search criteria, the details of the corresponding payment rule are automatically displayed.
  2. In the Payment Rule Details screen, you can modify the following:
    1. In the Merchant ID box, enter a unique identifier for the merchant. The Merchant ID, which is used to identify the payment type, must be unique for the organization.
    2. In the Payment RuleDescription* box, enter a brief description of the payment rule. The maximum number of characters you can enter is 100 characters.
    3. From the Publish Invoice drop down, select one of the following:
      • Select At Collection to publish an order's invoice after payment is collected on the invoice.
      • Select At Creation to publish an order's invoice when it is created.
Note: If you do not want to publish invoice, leave this field blank
    4. Select Allow Immediate Refund From Hold Amount if you want to instantly refund the credit amount from the pre-collected hold amount to the customer.
    5. Select Collect Externally Through Accounts if you want all the invoice details to be published to an external accounts receivable system.
    6. Select Deferred Credit On Return Required if an event should be raised with the cancelled amount that was not refunded when part of a pre-collected order is cancelled.
    7. Select Settlement Required if payments require settlement before they can be processed.
    8. Select Authorization Required if payments require any type of authorization before they can be processed. If you select this rule, an attached Reauthorization pane is enabled with reauthorization options.
    9. Select Customer Account Maintained Internally if the payment processing for an account is handled from within IBM® Sterling Order Management System Software.
    10. Select Ignore Payment Status For Purge if you want to purge orders regardless of the payment status of the orders. If Settlement Required is selected, Ignore Payment Status For Purge is disabled.
    11. Select Authorize Before Scheduling And Reauthorize On Expiration if you want payment methods to be authorized before scheduling an order and then reauthorized each time the previous authorization expires.
    12. Select Only Authorize Charge Transaction Request Total to create authorizations for charge transaction requests only. If Charge Transaction Requests exist, the system splits authorizations by the Charge Transaction Requests. If this option is selected and no Charge Transaction Request exists, the system does not authorize the order. If not selected, the system authorizes the order total.
    13. Select Authorize Before Scheduling and Delay Reauthorization on Expiration Until if you want authorization to take place before the order is scheduled and then to delay reauthorization until the Expected Release Date/Expected Appointment Date.
If you enter numbers in the Expected Release Date and the Expected Appointment Date fields and the numbers differ, reauthorization will occur on both dates.
      • In the Hours Before Expected Release Date For Products box, enter the number of hours before the Expected Release Date that you want an authorization for product items to take place.
      • In the Hours Before Expected Appointment Start Date For Services box, enter the number of hours before Expected Appointment Start Date that you want an authorization for provided and delivery services to take place.
    14. Select Delay Authorization Until if you want authorization to take place only before the Expected Release Date/Expected Appointment Date.
