Installing IBM Sterling Order Management System Software using Certified Container
You can configure and deploy the Sterling Order Management System Software images on Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform cluster.
Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform is an enterprise-ready Kubernetes container platform with full-stack automated operations to manage hybrid cloud and multi-cloud deployments. The projects in Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform enables a community of users to organize and manage their content in isolation from other communities. Users must be granted with access to projects by administrators, or if allowed to create projects, users must automatically have access to their own projects.
Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform is an orchestrated environment that provides strict security policies, built-in logging, routes to expose services, and management of container images.
- Sterling Order Management System Software Professional Edition for Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform: It is the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform equivalent of the Sterling Order Management System Software Professional Edition base offering. The auto-scaling performance that is built into the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform Edition achieves better scalability when compared to that achieved by the configuration features provided in the earlier releases of the base Sterling Order Management System Software Professional Edition.
- Sterling Order Management System Software Enterprise Edition for Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform: It is the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform equivalent of the Sterling Order Management System Software Enterprise Edition base offering. The auto-scaling performance that is built into the Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform Edition achieves better scalability when compared to that achieved by the configuration features provided in the earlier releases of the base Sterling Order Management System Software Enterprise Edition.
Deploying IBM Sterling Order Management System Software on Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform
The IBM Sterling Order Management System
Software comprises of three basic image
types, which are om-app, om-agent, and om-base.
The om-base image can be used to create a customization runtime,
which can be used to apply and integrate customizations and also to build new custom images of
om-app and om-agent. Further, the om-app images
can also be built for specific applications.
The different om-app images that are built using the customization
runtime can be deployed with a dedicated route or ingress to expose the applications in
om-app images. Routes are created only if using a Red Hat OpenShift Container
Platform
cluster. For any other Kubernetes cluster, ingress is created.
The om-agent image can be used to create deployments that run
different agents or integration servers that are configured in the system.
