Installation directory permissions and considerations

If installing in a Windows environment, read the following points to help you plan your installation.

  • You cannot install Sterling Order Management System Software software as an administrator because this would cause folders that are created by the installation to be inaccessible to anyone but the administrator.
  • Ensure that the directory into which you are installing is empty.
  • The silent installation creates an <INSTALL_DIR> folder. Subdirectories are installed directly under it.
  • The interactive installation process installs subdirectories and files directly into the <INSTALL_DIR> you specify while running the Installation Manager.
  • The drive must have adequate free disk space.
Note: It is recommended that you have an approximate disk space of 15GB for the installation.
  • The name of the directory is case-sensitive.
